The Donner Lake 4th of July Fireworks are some of the best in Northern California drawing thousands to view the spectacular display. Donner Memorial State Park is on the East shore of the lake offering lake access, camping, picnicking, mountain biking, fishing, rock climbing, and hiking.
Donner Lake in the Winter
In the winter months, Donner Lake gets buried in snow and you’ll find people snowshoeing, x-country skiing, and snowshoeing in the Donner Lake Memorial State Park. It’s easy to head up Old Highway 40 to Donner Ski Ranch, Sugarbowl Ski Resort, Boreal, or Royal Gorge, for some of the best skiing in Tahoe. With Northstar, Squaw Valley, and Alpine Meadows just a short drive away, Donner Lake real estate is the perfect place to start your next adventure.
