It’s hard to believe that we have arrived at the final weekend of March in Lake Tahoe. Snow is finally falling and the spring temperatures we were getting accustomed to have been halted. Besides catching up on those coveted powder days that we’ve missed this winter, there are a few exciting events worth checking out in North Lake Tahoe this weekend.

Dress up in your most outrageous ski duds and come out to Squaw Valley for a day full of belly laughs, camaraderie and philanthropy in celebration of legendary skier Shane McConkey. Celebrated for his playful spirit, McConkey was the mastermind behind the original Pain McShlonkey Open that debuted in 2003.

The Wheeland Brothers are surfers whose music can be described as acoustic beach rock and ukulele hip hop reggae. Their songs cover a full spread of punk reggae, acoustic hip hop, and ukulele bonfire jams, and hits all sides of the Southern California beach culture flavor.
