Homewood, CA Properties Located in the Heart of the West Shore
Homewood, CA neighborhoods offer private HOA beaches that provide owners with beach access and use of piers and buoys. With Hurricane Bay and McKinney Bay located just off the shores of Homewood, this neighborhood is very desirable for water skiers and wake sports enthusiasts as these protected bays offer calm water even when the rest of Lake Tahoe is choppy. These tranquil bays also offer the perfect spot to launch your kayak or paddleboard and explore the beauty of the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. During the Summer months, the Homewood ski area hosts a number of concerts and music festivals. The town becomes the focus of many other activities, including hiking, swimming, boating, mountain biking, and 4-wheeling on the fabled Rubicon Trail.
Hurricane Bay / Blackwood Cove
Hurricane Bay in Homewood, CA, is one of the West Shore’s most desirable enclaves, where crystal waters meet the forested slopes of the Sierra. This peaceful stretch of shoreline is a boater’s paradise, offering calm waters and immediate proximity to year-round recreation, from paddleboarding and swimming on Lake Tahoe, mountain biking, and skiing at the Homewood Mountain Resort. The paved West Shore Bike Trail runs directly through the area, connecting residents to Tahoe City and Sugar Pine Point State Park, while Blackwood Canyon provides miles of scenic hiking and backcountry adventure. Real estate in Hurricane Bay is especially sought after for its limited inventory of lakeview and lakefront homes, timeless West Shore character, and consistent long-term value appreciation.
